Confucious's prediction about the Liu Clan

孔子修春秋，[confucious] [cultivate himself in/amended] [Spring and Autumn Annals]

制孝經，[establish] [filial piety] [cannon]

既成，[already] [complete]

齋戒向北辰而拜，[fasting] [abstaining] [toward] [north] [be early] [and] [kow-tow]

告備於天。[tell] [prepare] [in] [sky]

Confucious cultivated himself in The Spring and Autumn Annals, established a cannon of filial piety, and had already completed his fasting as he kow-towed to the north early in the morning, explaining preparations in the sky. turned in the direction of the North Star to worship it.

乃洪鬱，[then] [deluge] [thick]

起白霧摩地，[rise] [white] [frost] [pound] [ground]

白虹自上而下，[white] [cicadas] [from] [above] [thus] [come down]

化為黃玉，[change] [into] [yellow] [jade]

長三尺，[length] [three] [chi]

上有刻文。[on the top] [there was] [an inscription] [written]

 Then there was a thick deluge of white frost which rose, scouring covering the ground. A white cicada fell from above and changed into yellow jade three inches wide, with an inscription written on the top.

孔子跪受而讀之，[Confucious] [knelt] [to receive] [and] [read] [it]

曰：「寶文出，[saying] [the treasure] [read] [out]

劉季握。[Liu] [season] [take hold]

 Confucious knelt to receive and read the jade. He said: "The treasure reads: 'The Liu clan Ji will rule.'

卯，金，刀，在軫北。[Mao] [Jin] [Dao] [exist] [state of Zhen]

Those with the surname combining Mao, Jin and Dao (those of the Liu Clan), who are in the State of Zhen;

字禾子，天下服。」  [cogomen] [Hezi] [world] [follow]

With the cognomen Hezi will be followed by the world. The world will follow the name of Hezi."
